A submission to an architectural design competition for an investment project, funded by Bayt Al Maqdes Association, comprising many uses including hotel, restaurant, multi purpose hall, art gallery, and administration offices.
Considering the prominent location of the site on a significant street in the city of Gaza, the design focused on providing the maximum usability of the area. Also, emphasize the definition of the major spaces in terms of scale and articulation.
The concept is inspired by the main historical buildings in Jerusalem, Al Aqsa mosque, and the Dome of the Rock.
The logo of the hotel was inspired by the mosaic work on the exterior of the Dome of the Rock. The massive stone walls inspired the exterior on the front
with the large stone cuts, and small openings. Imposing the juxtaposition between the borrowed rectilinear form and the regional finishing materials.
